OUR MISSION & VISION

The mission of The Samaritan Center at the Jersey Shore is to provide hope and resiliency by providing professional counseling and prevention education and awareness programs. We are a non-profit corporation established to provide individual, couples and families with the inner strength and emotional resources to advance their emotional, spiritual, mental health and wellness with quality professional counseling and coaching services. Our staff is dedicated to integrating one’s faith and honors people from all backgrounds and beliefs. We work very hard to insure cost is not a barrier.

History

We are all too aware of the unimaginable tragedies that members of our immediate Shore area have had to face in recent years: the senseless loss of life from suicide, the cascading hardships to schools, families and businesses due to substance abuse; the personal trauma and challenging adjustments necessary in the shaky economic environment and post 9/11 culture. Over recent years a growing number of people retiring in the Shore area are in need of support. There are many people trying to cope with the stresses of life at a time hospitals and other community agencies have limited services. Many people do not know where to turn for help.
